Our dog taxi currently services Shellharbour and some southern Wollongong suburbs.
As our service grows, we will look to expand beyond this area.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding our Dog Taxi

How do I book for this service?

Booking for our dog taxi service can only be done by calling the store directly on 0477896687.

In the future we hope to add this to our online portal.
Please note, no bookings will be accepted through email, text or through our socials.

How much does it cost?

Our taxi service is $10 per trip (eg. pick-up is one trip and drop-off is another trip).

The fee is the same for multiple dogs.
As an example, if you have 2 dogs needing pick-up and drop-off then the total for transport is $20.

Do I have to book in advance?

Yes, our dog taxi service must be booked no later than 4pm the day prior.

This is to ensure we can coordinate our staff and resources appropriately.

Can I choose the pick-up and drop-off time?

Unfortunately not at this time.
We instead have transport 'windows'

Our morning pick-up window is between 7:30 and 8:30

Our midday pick-up and drop-off window is between 11:30 and 12:30

Our afternoon drop-off window is between 5:00 and 6:00.

How will I make payment if I don't come to the store?

To book our taxi service you will need to provide us with a valid credit or debit card details. These details will be stored by Flinders Pet and the total amount of the service booked will be deducted on the day.
For example, if you dog is being picked up ($10), dropped off ($10) and staying for daycare($50) then the total amount of $70 will be deducted prior to your pet being dropped off in the afternoon.

What happens if my payment declines?

If your payment declines, we will call you to make payment over the phone.

If we are unable to reach you, we will add a note to your file and send a msg requesting urgent payment.

Future bookings will be cancelled/on hold until payment is received.

What if I won't be home for pick-up and/or drop-off?

You will need to let us know this at the time of booking.

To ensure we can safely collect and return your dog, you will need to provide us details and permission on how to access your property. This may include providing the team with keys/codes to do so.

Can I pay with cash or tap and go on pick-up or drop-off?

Unfortunately we will not be taking cash or eftpos payments at drop off or pick up.

If you do not want to have your card details on file, you are welcome to buy store credit in advance at our centre in Yallah (like a gift card).

What happens if i cancel late or the team come to pick-up our dog but it's not there?

Bookings cancelled after 4pm the day prior are subject to our standard cancelation fees (which is full payment of ALL services booked). This is the same if our team arrives at your house and the dog is not able to be collected.
For example, if you dog is booked in for grooming and pick-up/drop off, then your account will be charged the full amount for the groom and the transport.

How will my dog be secured in your vehicle?

To keep your dog safe, comply with relevant laws and ensure our drivers are able to travel safely, we do contain dogs as follows:

- Small dogs are secured in a suitable transport crate

- Larger dogs are secured via a tie-down system.

Can I book my dog in for transport, grooming and daycare?

Yes, of course you can. This is only available to be booked in person at the store or over the phone and is subject to availability.

Our standard discount for daycare when your dog is booked for grooming will still apply.

What should I have ready on pick-up?

Please ensure your dog is ready with their collar on. Their collar should have their name and an emergency contact on it.
If you dog has a harness, then that should be with them as well as the collar.
Collars are important to help our team better identify your dog, especially if they are new to the service.
If they don't have a collar, one will be provided for a small fee.
